Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History

Located one block from the beach and minutes from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Pacific Grove Museum is the gateway to discovery of the Central California Coast. Carve some time out of your trip to explore the wildlife, birds, geology, topography, and cultural richness that make the Monterey Peninsula a unique destination. The Pacific Grove Museum is an accredited American Association of Museums organization whose goal is to encourage wonder and discovery of nature and California's central coast.

  • Museum: Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 5pm.
  • Museum Store: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm

Admission is FREE with a suggested donation of $3 per person or $5 per family.

Group Visits to the museum

Educational programs and class field trips are encouraged by the Pacific Grove Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. Tours of the museum are guided by volunteers so groups of more than 14 visitors are required to have an advance reservation. For reservations, call (831) 648-5716 x17.

The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History is easily accessible from Highway 1:
From Highway 1, North or South directions, take the Highway 68 West Exit. Stay in your right lane. This road turns into Forest Avenue. Follow Forest for 1 block past Lighthouse Avenue. The Museum is located at the corner of Forest and Central Avenues
